 Azerbaijani president’s representative on special assignments holds meetings on COP29 in Slovenia  

The Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on special assignments, Elchin Amirbayov, paid a working visit to Slovenia.

During the visit, Amirbayov held meetings with Zlatko Šabič, the adviser to the President of Slovenia on international relations, Vojko Volk, the State Secretary for International Affairs in the Prime Minister’s Office, Danijel Krivec, the Vice President of the National Assembly, and Mateja Norčič Štamcar, Director-General at the Directorate for European Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, AzVision.az reports.

The meetings saw discussions on the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) to be hosted by Azerbaijan, Baku-EU relations, as well as issues on the regional and international agendas.

The Slovenian side extended its congratulations to the Azerbaijani side for being chosen as a COP29 host. Emphasizing that the upcoming COP29 is of paramount importance amid the climate change problem facing the globe, the Slovenian side affirmed its readiness to closely cooperate with Azerbaijan in preparation for this international event. During the visit, Amirbayov presented the Slovenian side with the invitation letter addressed by the President of Azerbaijan regarding the COP29.
